Willowick Parade Rules

PARADE RULES & REGULATIONS

1. General Conduct

All participants must follow instructions from parade officials and law enforcement.

Entries must maintain forward motion unless otherwise directed.

Unsafe or disorderly conduct will result in removal.

2. Line-Up & Parade Procedures

All entries must report to the designated line-up location at the assigned time.

Late arrivals may be denied participation.

No entry may join once the parade has begun without approval.

Maintain proper spacing (approximately 20–50 feet between entries).

Parade pace shall remain steady (approximately 2–4 mph).

3. Safety Requirements

Vehicles & Floats

Drivers must be properly licensed.

Vehicles must be insured and street legal.

Floats and trailers must be structurally secure.

Decorations must not obstruct driver visibility.

No riders may hang from moving vehicles.

Candy & Item Distribution

Candy should be thrown softly into the crowd.

Items other then candy must be handed directly to spectators at curbside.

No hard objects, water balloons, aerosol sprays, or hazardous materials.

4. Prohibited Activities

Alcohol or illegal substances.

Weapons or hazardous materials.

Political campaigning (unless officially designated).

Unauthorized vendors.

Confetti or materials requiring extensive clean-up unless approved.

5. Weather Policy

The parade will proceed rain or shine unless severe weather creates unsafe conditions. The City reserves the right to delay, re-route, or cancel if necessary.

6. Removal from Parade

Parade officials reserve the right to remove any entry that:

Violates rules

Creates unsafe conditions

Fails to follow instructions
