The Finance Department of the City of Willowick is located on the second floor of the Municipal Center, 30435 Lakeshore Blvd., Willowick, OH. Office hours are 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday and our staff consists of three full-time employees. The Finance Department is responsible for:
- Budgeting and forecasting
- Accurate accounting of all receipts and disbursements
- Payroll, personnel and other human resources functions
- Accurate accounting of all taxes and assessments
- Review and approval of all purchase orders
- Accurate accounting of all fixed assets
- Investment of city funds
- Debt management
Income Tax
The City’s municipal income tax rate is 2% on all wages and profits earned within the City limits. Residents are allowed a credit of 87.5% up to 1.75% of taxes paid to the city where they work. All residents over 18 years of age must file a city tax return, regardless of whether taxes are owed.
The Regional Income Tax Agency (R.I.T.A.) collects and maintains the tax records for the City. All municipal income tax filings and any questions should be directed to R.I.T.A. at (440) 526-0900, toll free at (800) 860-7482 or online at http://ritaohio.com.
Representatives from R.I.T.A. are available at the Mentor Municipal Center, 8500 Civic Center Blvd. on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. – 4:30 p.m.

Property tax in Willowick is administered by the Lake County Treasurer’s office.
The residential real estate tax rate is 102.66 mills, with an effective rate of 86.19 mills for tax year 2016, which is collected in 2017.
