Education

The City of Willowick is part of the Willoughby-Eastlake City Public School District. The District enrolled over 8,500 students during the 2011 – 2012 school year. The district has two high schools (North and South) located in Eastlake and Willoughby, respectively. Royalview Elementary School and Willowick Middle School are located in Willowick, and 1,525 students (17.9% of the District’s student population) attend these two schools. The school system once again earned an “Excellent” ranking by the Ohio Department of Education for the 2011-2012 academic year.

Private Schools 
There are several Catholic high schools, co-educational and single-sex parochial and private schools in Northeast Ohio which offer programs from Pre-K through Grade 12.

Colleges and Universities
Lakeland Community College was founded in 1967 to make higher education accessible to all members of the community. With approximately 13,000 full and part-time students attending annually, more than half of which are employed, Lakeland continually develops classes and programs to meet the needs of students, employers and the community as a whole. Lakeland’s Community Learning Program offers a variety of non credit courses, workshops, online courses, seminars, and conferences throughout the year to provide lifelong learning opportunities for people of all ages. Throughout the year, Lakeland offers programs for kids and teens in both academic and leisure activities. Courses in computers, professional development and personal skills are also available to enhance career development.

Lake Erie College is a small liberal arts school dedicated to a personalized and dedicated learning experience. Located in Painesville, Lake Erie College offers a variety of undergraduate degrees as well as graduate degrees in education and business management. The college prides itself on its ability to have small classes and caters to non-traditional students.
