Lake County History Center Produces “Ghosts of the Griffith”
The Lake County History Center has produced “Ghosts of the Griffith,” a video highlighting the history of the steamship G.P. Griffith. This vessel carrying 328 passengers of mostly immigrants and its crew caught fire off the shore of Willowick in 1850, with over 270 people losing their lives. To this day it is the worst loss of life on Lake Erie. Learn more about Willowick’s history in this video.
