How do I know if I qualify?

It is best to fill out an application.  We do not have stringent rules and all requests are looked at on an individual basis.  Once we have reviewed the information we will contact you to schedule the visit.

Do you complete work inside the home?

We try to keep the work to the outside of the home.  We will occasionally work inside the home for emergency situations.

Does Hearts & Hammers build decks and patio enclosures?

We limit the work to homeowners needs rather than additional improvements.

What if I have plumbing or electrical work?

We try to limit ourselves to simpler outdoor tasks.  We do not want to take jobs away from contractors that are trying to make a living in Willowick.  We have a number of registered contractors that can provide service with a possible discount.

How will I know when my home is scheduled for work?

Someone will contact you to schedule the work.  The majority of work days are scheduled for Tuesday evenings after 6:00pm, weather permitting.

Do you provide someone to mow lawns?

We do not want to take jobs away from landscapers that are trying to make a living in Willowick.  Occasionally we can schedule local high school kids that need volunteer hours for school.  We have a number of registered landscapers that can provide service with a possible discount.

Can I donate to Hearts & Hammers?

Yes, we accept donations with checks made out to “Willowick Hearts & Hammers”.

We are also in need of any landscape tools including leaf rakes, shovels, pruners, loppers, chain saw, tractor, pick-up truck etc.  Other tools such as screwdrivers, hammers, wrenches, saws, drills, tool boxes etc. are also needed to help with various projects.
