Community Policing

To strengthen relationships and trust within our community, the Willowick Police Department offers several Public/Community relations activities.  D.A.R.E., A.L.I.C.E., Internships, Ride-a-longs, Officer Phil Program, Buckle-Down Program, Caught you Being Good, Coffee with a Cop, Trunk or Treat, Christmas with Blue, Safety Town, Hero’s Day.  Contact Sgt. LaForge or Ptl. Slapnicker if you have any ideas or programs you would like to see your department adopt.

D.A.R.E (Drug Awareness Resistance Education)

The Willowick Police Department offers the D.A.R.E. program to the fifth graders at the Royalview Elementary School.  This program teaches the resistance to drugs and alcohol; and the importance of being a leader, not a follower.  Sgt. Carol Ice has dedicated 22 years of her career to this program.  Without her involvement, this program would not exist today.  Unfortunately, for our department and the students of Royalview, Sgt. Ice is retiring this year.  The program will continue to be a success under the direction of Ptl. Donald Slapnicker.
